Zhi Xin's first pair of self-made earrings were fashioned out of copper wires leftover from a Science lab class, using just her hands and a humble eybrow tweezer as her tools. With this passion for jewellery crafting, she started Trinket Cove in 2005 in the form of the blogshop, together with her Junior College classmate. In 2012, she revamped the brand and brought it onto an e-commerce platform.
Besides having a full-time job and tending to her bling creations, Zhi Xin is also a competitive ballroom dancer of eight years and counting, and can’t imagine life without dancing anymore. Just how does she manage to do it all?
Well, she keeps this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt close to heart and lives her life by its philosophy: "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams". The go-getter firmly believes that having no time to do anything after a day of work is an excuse.
She explains, "If you’re passionate about something, you will find a way to make it work. If you have always dreamed of doing something, start small by building your skills and gathering ideas to make it happen." Well said.
